Staring

I can't help staring at this awesome kitchen dreamed up by Alice Lane Interiors.

We are not quite ready to start on our kitchen, but this image has me wondering if I should think of having a more modern look with some sleek cabinets and open shelving.

You know what open shelving means ... new dishes!

You have been warned

The website for HGTV Canada's television program, Colin and Justin's Home Heist, is addictive!

It will suck you into a time/space vortex and this is what you will see:

  • amazing before and afters of at least three rooms from one house (I feel like I've been in many of those "before" pictures)

  • tons of Ikea kitchen cabinets

  • kitchen eye candy

  • funny episode names

    • Before: Kitchen Heist

      After: Kitchen Heist

Have a happy Friday! Don't forget...I did warn you.

      Winning combo

Will I ever get tired of white kitchens with subway tile and marble counter tops?

Is there a trend that you hope never goes out of style?

      Kitchen design inspiration

I'm considering designing my kitchen around these measuring cups I found at Anthropologie for a few bucks (get it ... bucks).

      Touches of black

I love the touches of black and bead board ceilings in the 2010 Princess Margaret Showhome featured in Canadian House and Home.

      Kitchen Inspiration: Black and White

If Santa comes this year we are getting a much needed roof. Our current roof has a slight leaking problem. After the roof is done, we will be tackling the kitchen.

I'm thinking of white cabinets, a yet to be determined countertop, marmoleum floors and white subway tiles (even though I've heard that subway tiles are soo last year). Let the dreaming begin...

I've had this picture on my fridge for a couple of months. It's great inspiration of what my kitchen could look like after we remodel and distracts the eye from all of the faux wood that is currently in the kitchen.
